JSL Audio empowers the artistic brilliance of large-scale theaters

Based on the theater's scale, positioning, and functionality, the JSL professional audio installation team has determined that the main design content includes the following aspects: the theater's architectural acoustics, the auditorium sound reinforcement system, the stage machinery system, the stage lighting system, the video display system, the cinema projection system, and the stage supervision system.

1.Architectural Acoustics of the Theater
The theater features a vast space with complex internal structures, where architectural acoustic treatment directly impacts sound quality. Irregular wall surfaces and specially designed sound-absorbing materials are widely applied to reduce echoes and reverberation. Our audio team is deeply involved in this process, utilizing professional acoustic measurement equipment to conduct comprehensive acoustic surveys of the theater. By strategically deploying speakers with specific directivity, sound is precisely projected toward the audience area, effectively minimizing the interference of reflected sound on audio quality and laying a solid foundation for the optimal performance of the subsequent sound reinforcement system.

2. Auditorium Sound Reinforcement System
As the critical link in sound transmission, the auditorium sound reinforcement system plays a decisive role in the audience's listening experience.
The auditorium sound reinforcement system shall be equipped with the following capabilities:

1.It shall satisfy the functional requirements for conferences, lectures, and comprehensive cultural and entertainment performances.

2.The system shall adopt an LCR + surround sound reinforcement configuration and must provide complete coverage of the entire audience area.

3.The sound pressure level distribution within the listening area shall be uniform, and the system shall have sufficient pre-feedback sound reinforcement gain.
During the installation and commissioning phase, the JSL professional audio installation team employed advanced audio testing software to conduct meticulous sound tests at various positions throughout the theater, precisely adjusting the mounting angles and positions of the speakers to ensure stable, clear sound coverage in every corner of the venue. The JSL LA series main sound reinforcement system was utilized, ensuring that whether audience members are seated in the front or back rows, they all enjoy equally powerful audio effects. Additionally, multiple digital power amplifiers with built-in displays were deployed, offering substantial power reserves and extremely low distortion rates, delivering stable and robust drive to the speakers—capable of handling even high-dynamic musical passages with ease, while preserving sound clarity and fullness.

3. Stage Machinery System
The stage machinery system serves as the hardware foundation for diversifying stage performances. Stage machinery is divided into overhead machinery and under-stage machinery. Overhead machinery includes: fire curtains, proscenium curtains, cloth curtain battens, lighting battens, lighting cages, side light towers, stage portals, hoist points, grand curtain draw machines, and cinema wide-screen mechanisms, among others. Under-stage machinery includes: lift orchestra pits, lift stages, turntables, and more. These provide rich spatial variations for performers, enabling seamless integration between stage machinery operations and performance content, thereby enhancing the fluency and visual appeal of the production.

4. Stage Lighting System
As a newly constructed theater, the lighting circuit design emphasizes forward-looking planning. Stage lighting is a crucial means of creating stage atmosphere, working in tandem with the audio system to deliver an immersive artistic experience. Variations in light intensity and color, synchronized with musical rhythm and plot development, greatly enhance the expressive power of the performance. The lighting system shall meet the flexible and diverse demands of performing arts on stage lighting, with equipment configurations primarily designed to accommodate large and medium-scale cultural performances while also catering to other forms of productions. The overall design philosophy encompasses comprehensive application scope with rational and well-structured layout planning.

5. Video Display System
The video display system fully takes into account principles of advanced technology, stability, practicality, integration, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. It is built as a video display system that employs proven advanced technologies, features excellent layout design, reasonable equipment application, a user-friendly and simple interface, orderly and practical functionality, and good upgradeability—all aimed at meeting the demands for large-screen image and data display. Whether it is environmental sound effects or character dubbing in films, all are perfectly synchronized with the visuals, immersing the audience in the scene and further enhancing the integration of visual and auditory elements in the performance.

6. Cinema Projection System
The digital projection system stores and transmits film signals in digital format, converting digital signals into images and projecting them onto the screen. It offers higher image quality and a wider selection of films, while also delivering superior sound effects and special effects. Furthermore, the digital projection system provides greater flexibility and scalability to accommodate various screening requirements.

7. Stage Supervision System
In contemporary performances, the role of stage supervisor has become an indispensable position within performance troupes in China, and the performing arts industry is placing increasing emphasis on stage supervision. This system employs advanced digital and computer networking technologies, audio-visual technologies, and multimedia technologies to establish an integrated system that combines stage supervision, monitoring, command, and dispatching functions. With a single set of equipment and a unified interface, it enables comprehensive control over stage intercom communications and video supervision and monitoring, facilitating point-to-point and point-to-multipoint real-time audio-visual communication among the stage director, stage designer, director, sound engineer, lighting engineer, performers, and relevant operational staff—fully meeting the requirements for on-site performance supervision, monitoring, dispatching, and command.
